Megan : We’d pretend we were explorers or pirates. Sometimes we’d make “treasure maps” and bury random objects in the yard to dig up later.
Jake : Haha, that’s awesome. Did you have any rituals or traditions growing up?
Megan : Definitely. Every Friday night was pizza-and-movie night with my family. No matter what, we’d all sit together on the couch and watch something fun.
Jake : That sounds cozy. Do you still do it now?
Megan : Not really—we’ve all grown up and moved apart—but whenever I visit home, we try to recreate it. It’s not quite the same, though.
Jake : I get that. Some things just feel different as adults. What about school? Did you enjoy it?

Megan : Dodgeball was huge back then. I wasn’t the best player, but it was so much fun dodging balls and cheering on my teammates.

Megan : Oh, plenty of times. Once, I got hit square in the face—it stung so bad—but everyone laughed, including me.
Jake : Ouch, but at least it made for a funny story. What about toys? Did you have a favorite?
Megan : Absolutely—a stuffed bunny named Snowflake. I took it everywhere with me, even to school sometimes. My mom still has it tucked away somewhere.
Jake : That’s sweet. Do you think kids today have the same attachment to toys, or is it all about gadgets now?
Megan : Probably a mix. Gadgets are popular, sure, but I’ve seen kids light up over simple things like Legos or dolls too.

Megan : Not much. We had a bulky desktop computer, and I remember getting my first CD player—it felt so high-tech at the time.
Jake : CD players! Those were the days. Do you miss anything about being a kid?
Megan : The simplicity, for sure. Life felt less complicated. Oh, and no responsibilities—I could just play and daydream all day.
Jake : Same here. But I guess growing up has its perks too, like independence.
